Kitty Cat Scares a Wolverine..(October 30, 2006)

Back-off all you negative people stating how the Wolverines should have destroyed Northwestern in a bloodbath after what Sparty did to them last week….Right now, it’s just win baby – style points don’t matter. Besides, for anyone who went to the game, I commend you. That had to be some of the worst weather for football that we have seen around here in a long time….

The BCS Mess
Now that the USC Condoms have truly muddled things up (THANK YOU BEAVERS - That's not an MMQ nickname, by the way - It truly is the Oregon State BEAVERS) , which was to be expected and is no surprise, let’s figure out some scenarios for how the national title game is going to play out…..

1. It’s the winner of the Michigan-Suckeyes game – that’s clear. So, one spot is solid.
2. The national media decides, like they did in 1997 with Woodson winning the Heismann, to build some momentum with the idea that if the two best teams in the country play, and one loses, should the other team drop in the polls? So, we have the potential of having a Michigan-Suckeyes rematch, which makes everyone happy except for people that don’t like Michigan-Suckeyes…
3. The WVU Mount'em and Leave Boys win out – I know – this goes beyond my comprehension as well…How can a team from the Weak East, that hasn’t played ANYONE in the Top 25 actually have a shot at the National Title game? This reminds me of 1984 when BYU won the National Title when Robbie Boscoe and his band of merry men BARELY beat a 6-5 Wolverine Team in the Holiday Bowl – Schembechler couldn’t believe they were voted National Champs…So, is it fair to give the Mount-‘em and leave boys a shot, or…
4. Florida wins the SEC Title game and ekes out enough votes, computer love, and style points to leapfrog the Mount’em Boys and sneak sideways into the game, assuming the Suckeye-UM loser falls below them in the polls…or,
5. Auburn wins the SEC and Tommy Tutone pulls an Osborne and gets the national media to vote the Kitty Kats into the title game…or
6. Texas, by virtue of playing in the Little 12, somehow gets some momentum by winning out and also winning their title game, and starts talking about their only loss is to the Suckeyes and they want a neutral field re-match…..or
7. Charlie Wuzzles gets the national media to take pity on him and he wins out and somehow gets into the National Title game by being the Domers....One of our alert readers spotted a rant on ESPN.Com that's worth the time, and if you haven't seen the clip of Wuzzles saying he is "befuddled" that his team could drop as he waves his Super Bowl Ring in front of the cameras, it's truly comical...C. Wuzzles - coaches should only worry about winning football games and let the polls take care of themselves.....Thank you Mr. Fisher....

8. Lousiville Birds beat the Mount'em boys and slide into the 2nd spot - -this is a long shot of huge odds and not worth going into a lot of detail on.....so, you could also have
9. California....the bears are out ther lurking.....

Did I foget anyone? Let's play some November Football and see where all this sorts out....

On to the MAC

Sparty, I have to hand it to you.....You pull off the biggest comeback to get everyone off your back for 7 days, and then go down to Indiana, who is admittedly better than they have been in a long time, but you guys somehow make these guys look like National Title Contenders....Now, I don't know how good Indiana is, but they did get shellacked by OSU the week before.....I guess JLS reall is gone....Gosh, I am going to miss him....

CORN SUCKER NATION - For shame....After your coming out game against the Wolverines, to lose to USC, Texas and now OkieState in the same season for at least 3 losses......
GATORLAND - The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail party is yours....Keep Taking care of business and it's Michigan-Florida in the Title game....

Miami loses to GT.....Coker will be gone soon.....
