admonishment of Harbaugh and his record against the “Rivals”, LNU and the
suckeyes. I hate “reporters”
that think they have to be bigger than the game. And I really hate grand-standing reporters and
“fake news” types.
This clown falls into each and
every category.

guys spout off about beating anyone. I
prefer actions to be on the field and have a talking field day AFTER you pummel
someone. Higdon just doesn’t understand
how big of a game this is and no one is going to lay down for you in
the first game of the season.

Frost: We Have To Fix
EVERYTHING At Nebraska
Head Coach Scott Frost
might be laying the groundwork for a less than expected win total this season
at the Media Days. Frost said
that everything that made Nebraska “Nebraska” needs to be looked at and
fixed.
He wants to restore Nebraska's walk-on tradition
and enhance areas like strength and conditioning, nutrition and academic
support."We've gotta fix everything," Frost said. "We've gotta
fix the talent, we've gotta fix the depth, keep adding to what we have."Frost
cautioned against expecting overnight success, stressing that it will take time
to get Nebraska on track both on the field and in recruiting.
Urban Legend Fires WR Coach After Report of Brutalizing Wife
Why this was a “tough call” and didn’t happen 9 years ago
when the alleged abuse took place is beyond me.

Smith
was charged with criminal trespassing after a dispute with his ex-wife in May.
Police also investigated a dispute between Smith and his ex-wife when they were
still married in 2009 and he was a member of Meyer's staff at Florida,
according to college football reporter Brett McMurphy.
McMurphy
also reported that police arrested Smith in 2015 on domestic violence charges
in Powell, Ohio. Powell's police department refused to confirm or deny the 2015
incident, and no record exists in the online court system in Ohio's Delaware
County.
Where this could get a little “Toasty” for Urban is how he
handles the fall-out and the “who knew what when”. Gene Smith, AD for the suckeyes, may also
have some delicate ground to maneuver going forward. Granted, this wasn’t student related, but the
whole #MeToo movement could create problems for these two. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays
out.

Engler Roasted In
Washington DC – And Somebody’s A-Lyin’
So, former Michigan guv and prez of LNU was roasted in Washington DC over
the LNU scandal, his e-mails and other actions he’s taken in his 6
months at the helm.
And I’ll simply add, “Rightly so” to this diatribe.
Engler doubled down on his, “I never offered a settlement number” in the
meeting with Lorincz, but I find it difficult to believe, especially after the
e-mail surfaced, that Lorincz is the liar here.
Why would she make that up?
Under questioning by Blumenthal, Engler said he
never discussed money during his private meeting with Lorincz. "There
was not any discussion of a settlement," Engler said, noting Lorincz is
now part of the $500 million settlement that MSU reached with 330 Nassar
accusers. "We have different recollections about that conversation
than she has," he said, referring to himself and two female
administrators who attended.
After the hearing, Lorincz told reporters she
would "not tolerate being called a liar." "That does not
sit well with me," said Lorincz, a student at Adrian College. "This
fight is not over with John Engler."
I wonder if this is over for Engler? What if Lorincz decides to lawyer up and take
it to court separately with all of her “settlement” money? LNU and Engler could be up to their asses in
another mess.

Nassar is
assaulted in prison less than 6 months into his life sentence. If that’s an average, all Nassar’s victims may actually
get the satisfaction of revenge!

Jon Reschke, who reportedly called the 4 players, “Silly F@#$%in
N-Word(s)” that were dismissed in the
early spring for sexual misconduct in 2017, has been reinstated on the LNU football
team. I don’t know about you, but that’s
a tough walk and a big risk to locker room harmony if I’m the head coach of any
program. Somehow, Daninoto makes it work again and again…

Really good article about stuff I’ve touched on
before. With all the big money
rolling in, why aren’t fan ticket prices getting just a little
cheaper? It’d be a great way to
get more
asses in seats for games…
OF course, nothing ever gets cheaper, but if prices
continue on this course, there will always be fewer buyers. And that may force schools to think
about fans for a change. Great piece

revenue hit. College students, with lots of debt and lots of things competing
for their time, have easy reasons to back away from their schools’ sports.
Those students will then become 30-somethings, with less disposable income than
30-somethings used to have.
Athletic
departments need to make it easier, not harder, for fans young and old to love
their teams. You don’t do that with schedules so bloated that a student might
not get to see a conference football opponent his entire time on campus. You
don’t do it by charging 60 bucks a ticket for a game against a lower-level
team, forcing your best game to be on a Friday or super late at night, or
loading your non-conference schedule with paycheck games.

UCF Kicker Suing UCF Based On His Constitutional Rights
I posted on this when it was originally going down in 2017 and
saw over at SBNation that DelaHaye is suing UCF based on his 1st
Amendment Rights. What’s interesting is
that he’s approaching the school, that’s a state institution, and the NCAA, as “Government”
institutions. While I don’t
think he will be able to win anything, it does present a dilemma for the NCAA if a judge
were to rule that his 1st amendment rights were in fact violated by
the NCAA VIA UCF. And that could
create a bunch of changes in NCAA rules for anyone that wants to make money
while being a student athlete.
