Mid-Week Round-Up

Rest of The Mess that Wasn’t Mentioned on Monday

Sometimes the MMQ doesn’t have as much time on Monday Mornings as I’d like to have….

Domers vs. Stanford:  Stanford put a death blow on the Domers on Saturday, defeating them rather soundly.  The NDNation Trolls are out in force demanding $warbrick’$ and Kelly’s heads on platters.  There as even a post trying to get the troops rallied like Tennessee did to “Take back the Program!”  The latest, greatest coaching rumor:  Former OU Coach Bob Stoops buying two houses in Chicago.  (So he could watch his senior high school son play football this season).  Ranked in the top 4 had shut the doubters up for a while, but now they’re rallying.   Opening with Michigan next season (if Michigan can pull that win off) will start them out on the right foot.

Egg Bowl:  Ole Miss upset MSU in a heated game right before MSU learned that it was losing its head coach to Florida.  Watch MSU closely as they search for a coach.  They made a good hire in Mullen and I expect them to do the same again.  UPDATE:  Moorhead (OC from PSU) Rumored to be hired at MSU!!!

Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee:  Hoke is now 0-2 at Tennessee.  I don’t think he’s going to get the job permanently.   And Tennessee is winless in the SEC for the first time since joining the league in 1933.

Sparty @ Rutgers:  Not much to see here as Sparty did what pretty much everyone else has done to Rutgers this season.  And kudos on a nice turnaround from last season’s forgettable 3-9 to a mirror like 9-3.  I don’t know how long Chris Ash is going to get at Rutgers, but if he would have waited there were way better jobs available this season…

Barret And The Mysterious Camera-Man

I kind of ignored this on Monday as it seemed like a whole lotta nuthin, but the story seems to have legs.  Barret was apparently run over in pre-game warm-ups by one of the many “Hoards of Media” people that were on the field.  From the Legend’s Mouth:

It SOUNDED like Urban Legend was taking a shot at Michigan in general (similar to how Harbaugh Ripped on Purdue) about the safety of the field during the pre-game warm-up.  I guess I’m surprised that the Camera Man hasn’t come forth and revealed himself.  If he had a field pass, hey, he was clean and had a right to be there.  That he accidentally ran into Barret is unfortunate, but accidents happen.  Just think it would be interesting to know who the mystery man is and why he hasn’t come forward.   Barret himself stated it wasn’t intentional.

Or did someone hire the Tonya Harding crew to “Nancey Kerrigan” Barret out of the Game???

Wolken reporting that FSU targeting Taggart at Oregon if Jimbo Fisher Bolts to Texas A&M

Glen Mason Territory

Great article by Bill Connely and what can happen when you fire winning coaches (looking at you Texas A&M and Arizona State, both firing their coaches go with 7-5 records)

For schools with lesser advantages, impatience almost never pays off.
  • On the heels of 11- and nine-win seasons, Boston College pushed Jeff Jagodzinski out because he deigned to interview for other jobs. They were 2-10 four years later and haven’t reached nine wins since.
  • Ron Zook took Illinois to nine wins and a Rose Bowl in 2007, and after a two-year reset, got them back to 7-6 in both 2010 and 2011. He was fired. Illinois has averaged 3.7 wins per year since.
  • Dan McCarney won at least seven games five times in a six-year span at Iowa State but was let go after a 4-8 downturn in 2006. ISU has not topped seven wins since, though that could change with an upcoming bowl game.
  • Ralph Friedgen took Maryland to seven bowls in 10 years, and after a two-win collapse in 2009, rebounded to nine wins in 2010. Maryland has averaged 4.7 wins per year since firing him.
  • NC State pushed Tom O'Brien out in 2012 after 24 wins in three years. Their best three-year win total since: 22.
  • David Cutcliffe won seven or more games for five straight years at Ole Miss, peaking with a 10-win campaign in 2003. But after a 4-7 reset in 2004, he was fired. The Rebels would top four wins twice in the next seven years.
  • Pitt pushed Dave Wannstedt out after after 26 wins in three years. The Panthers have averaged 6.6 wins since.
  • Phil Fulmer took Tennessee to 15 bowls and five SEC championship games in 16 years. He won the national title in 1998 and won at least eight games 14 times. He fell to 5-6 in 2005 but rebounded back to 10 wins in 2007. After a second five-win reset in 2008, he was fired. The Vols have hit the eight-win mark twice in the nine years since.
Speaking of Firing Fullmer:
The “Fecal Matter” Show That Is Currently Tennessee
I really enjoy it when someone else’s tire fire of a program is flying into the ground.  I know I shouldn’t take pleasure in other’s misfortunes, but I feel like nobody was feeling too sorry for anyone in Ann Arbor as the Michigan Family endured Bill Martin, Bran Dictator and everything else that was going on.
Tennessee continues to outdo themselves on the clown car cavalcade.  First the twitter madness when Schiano was almost hired.  Then Cutcliff from Duke (who coached in Knoxville with Fullmer for 18 seasons) said, “Uh-uh”.  THEN, the reports of Gundy leaving OSU (he won’t) for Tennessee for an offer of $42M over 6 years.  Doesn’t everyone remember that Gundy played at OSU?  And turned Tennessee down in 2012?
And has a son in high school there, not to mention his parents still reside in Stillwater?

And where’s the VolRage over Gundy recruiting and playing a player that was eventually convicted of having sex with a 12 year old girl when he was 17???   Oh, yeah, Gundy has winning record…

Hypocrites.

I believe what you’re seeing Currie do is more or less run around and offer the job and $42M over 6 seasons to every big-name coach out there to see who bites and to also cover his ass when he has to either hire Hoke or some other top coordinator.  Tennessee fans need to be beat over the head that it’s not a great gig, and the fans acting the way they do don’t help.
PSU Trustee Comes Out In Defense of Schiano

Things got ugly on Sunday in Tennessee and Twitter and the universe exploded when the “story” emerged on Greg Schiano being somehow linked to Sandsusky and the cover up.  Anthony Lubrano wrote a nice letter in support of Schiano.
I get that Vol Fans were looking for ANY EXCUSE to not hire Schiano.  I remember not being that fired up about him when his name was getting thrown around for the Michigan job.  But you really shouldn’t run with something that’s not true and drags a man’s name through the mud just to get your way.  Social media, folks.  The Inmates are running the Asylum now

It Looks Like The Committee Will Get Bailed Out Again…

There was so much talk a month ago about two teams from the same conference getting in, but that is all it was.  Talk.  The argument for Bama is a weak one, especially when you take away the name and just look at record, SOS and stats.  Not the outcome if you wanted CHAOS!!!!   Annnnnd maybe the SEC will get a little more serious about scheduling.  SOS counts...

Etc.
This Week In Schadenfreude
As always, a great read, but made even better when Bama fans start whining….
Golden Gophers Almost LOSE to a 3-Man Alabama Squad!
Saw this in a related post and I don’t know how I missed it when it happened.  Apparently, there was a kerfuffle on the court in the 2nd half and the Bama bench left their seats and took a few steps on the court to break up the donnybrook.  No big deal, but the refs had to eject all of them for leaving the bench.  Then, a player from Bama fouled out and another one rolled his ankle, taking the squad down to 3 with 10 minutes left in the game!  And they almost won!!!

That's It - 2017 Is In the Book

Holiday Bowl, anyone?

Yes, I’ve seen the Speight Transfer news…

Yes, I’m still alive and off suicide watch after the debacle in Ann Arbor.

And thinking back, I was literally on Cloud 9 as Michigan jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.  I thought Michigan was right where they wanted to be, could run the ball and chew up clock as the defense seemed to have the suckeyes figured out.  The suckeyes had NEGATIVE YARDAGE coming out of the 1st Quarter.

Then it all went to hell…

I don’t take the losses as hard as I used to.  But there was a definite period of “How can this be happening so often?  Sooner or later the law of averages has to catch up…”
Of course, I’m sure every suckeye fan was thinking that during the Cooper years.  I guess we’re paying for that during this stretch.

13 of the last 14 to the suckeyes?

Hard to stomach…

But if you had told me before the game that Michigan would have the ball on the 50-yard line, down 4 points with 4 minutes left, I’d have taken scenario in a heartbeat.  I honestly would have. And the suckeyes kept giving Michigan chances and even had Barret go down which should have been an advantage.

I don’t know what goes through Harbaugh’s head when Michigan is on offense, but it seemed (to this fan anyway) that Michigan was rushing the ball pretty well.  Higdon and Evans just needed more touches.  And I believe Higdon even said to the sideline, “Feed Me!”

Why Michigan got away from the rush is beyond me.  It seemed that there was a force at work that kept Michigan from doing the “right thing” on Saturday.  And then putting your money on O’Korn just seemed reckless.  Like betting it all on green on the roulette wheel.  What are you thinking?  Did he suddenly become Tom Brady in the last time-out or something?  I normally don’t call kids out as really sucking or costing anyone a game…But O’Korn, you cost Michigan the Game.  I know you cried afterward in the presser.  Suck it up Buttercup.  Michigan Men don’t cry after giving the Game away.  It was fun knowing you, but move along.

I could go on about the Refs, but that seems like it’s a given any more.  I don’t know who said what to the powers that be, but Michigan may forever be condemned to not get a favorable referee call from this point forward.

The suckeyes did not get called for one single hold the entire game.

Not ONE.

And I observed at least two that were no-brainers.  Including the one on Mo Hurst when Barret scampered 20 some yards for a TD.   (Right after Metellus let an interception go right through his hands) Where the F$#%@$#% was that flag?  Mother – F@#$$ers....

Enough on the refs…

Getting back to Speight:  I guess he saw the writing on the wall?  But for it to happen so quickly after the Game, it must have been in process for a while.  I guess when you see Shane Morris lighting it up in Mt. Pleasant, you figure if you want any chance of making it on Sunday, you need to go somewhere to show off what you have.

The Harbaugh offense isn’t easy for QB’s.  You need to have some ability and be able to hit receivers when the time comes (and it helps when they catch the F@#$%ing ball).   And you don’t get as many attempts as you’d like.

But for anyone that thinks this is a “great” thing, just remember this:  Speight will forever hold the record as having the best half of any QB in Michigan Program History against Maryland in 2016.  The highest passer rating ever recorded.  Speight was great in that game.  Not to mention the 2016 Penn State Game…If only you could bottle stuff like that up and keep it around forever.

And for anyone that’s chirping about this “Being on the coaching staff”, you’re idiots.  Coaches can’t throw the ball or catch the ball.  And they certainly can’t make refs throw the flag.  The gameplan was fine.  Everyone just needs to execute.  O’Korn didn’t.  Opportunities were lost…And yeah, I’ve heard all about Harbaugh’s November record.  Screw it.   Harbaugh is going to fix the mess.

 That you can believe in.

So, where to from here?  2018 is shaping up to be even more interesting than we thought.

The Rest of the “Hot” Mess

YHMA You Have My Attention

Auburn:   Two losses to Clemson and at LSU shouldn’t keep you from being #1 on Tuesday night after you’ve beaten 2 number 1 ranked teams on your home turf.  Convincingly.  Georgia is not good and Bama is what everyone (besides Pete Finebaum) thought they were.  An okay team but not a GREAT Team.

TIYFC - Turn In Your Football Cards

Wolverines:  I know I made you turn it in last week, but losing 13 out of the last 14 to the suckeyes is bad. An entire generation has no idea of what it means to beat the suckeyes.  This has to get better soon.

Gophers:  I made you turn in your card last week also, but getting blanked at home by Wiscy?  Seriously?  Maybe the Flecker isn’t who I thought he was.  Should have been a better effort out of that team.

CUD – Complete, Unmitigated Disasters!!!

Miami: Destroying the Domers only gets you so far.  Losing to a team that isn’t even going to travel over the holidays is bad news, especially this late in the season.  You have to win the ACC Championship to have a chance.  Bama could be the option even if you do win the ACC.  There will be a lot of talk about that, guaranteed.

Nebraska:  Well, I guess you can turn the page on the Riley Era.  Firing 9 win coaches hasn’t been a good solution.  Firing losing coaches probably can’t get any worse

WWB – We Won, But…We Should Be Worried

Georgia:  Losing twice to Auburn is probably really gonna’ suck….
And the Rest

FSU vs. Gatorland:  FSU won the Sunshine Bowl and believe it or not, can still qualify for a bowl game with a win this week in the hurricane make-up game against ULM.  But still, two programs that are in a world of hurt right now…

PSU vs. Maryland:  Getting 66 points hung on you is a bad look.  Derkin is a better coach than that, but once the kids give up, well, it’s hard.

The 5 Stages of Slappy Fan Grief

  1. Denial and Isolation Georgia.  Fans somehow believe that Auburn on a neutral field will be “easier” to beat…
  2. ANGER –MICHIGAN.  Too damn many have been lost to the suckeyes…
  3. Bargaining –Anyone in the 5-6 spot coming out of this week’s CFP announcement.
  4. Depression:  Domers.  Losing to Stanford and finishing November with a 2-2 record is not good.  Oh, well, I guess that’s Michigan, too.
  5.  Acceptance – Everybody Else.  On to 2018!

Idle Thoughts from Saturday

-Where did the season go?
-It always looks so long from the other end.
-Then, you’re looking at the suckeyes and realize it’s over.
-Good Tailgate crowd!

-Win or lose, still the best part of the day.
-I think I clinched the Can Game for 2017!
-Making every game helps…
-Was surprised with the weather.
-Two most miserable games were in October.
-Saturday was balmy.
-Thanks CK for the extra Ticket
-Here we Go!
-Super!  Get up on these guys early…
-There we go!  Up two TD’s!
-And the suckeyes can’t move the ball!
-Grind it out and wear them down…
-What’s a team have to do to get a call around here?
-I mean, this is the Big House.
-Michigan should be able to get a call.
-Damn!  You have to catch that Metellus!
-HOLDING!!!  RIGHT F@#$%@ing THERE!
-Are you kidding me?
-I hate referees.  Each and every one of them…
-This is coming apart.
-So, there’s a chance.
-Rush the ball, eat up some clock and score.
-WTF….
-Why are you putting O’Korn into this situation?
-WTF!!!
-Great.  It might be over.
-NOW it’s over.
-2018 I’m looking forward to you…
-Don’t let me down

THE MMQ’s “I DON’T NEED A COMMITTEE!”

1.    Auburn/Georgia:  Auburn is #1 this week and deserves a spot even with two losses.
2.    CANES/Clemson – Same here.  ACC champ is in.
3.    Oklahoma – Win and they’re in…
4.    Wiscy/Suckeyes:  B1G Champion is in.  And from what I saw on Saturday, I don’t think the suckeyes can beat Wiscy.

Undefeateds and 1-loss Lurkers:  Bama.  Pete Finebaum will be carrying the “Bama was number 1 all season and deserves to be in as a result” banner all week.  But a 63rd Strength of Schedule will be the Tide’s achilles heal when the committee has to make a decision.  Bama’s best bet:  Hope Auburn beats Georgia and the Suckeyes beat Wiscy.  Which creates an un-holy alliance where Bama fans have to root for Auburn

The Hot Seat

Jeez, this is getting insane.  I’m not sure what the order is, but I think the list is complete.

ZAPPED List

We’ll keep track of who’s gone as the season progresses….

  1. “Holier than Thou” Hugh Freeze
  2. Andersen – Oregon State
  3. Kugler – Texas El Paso
  4. Tyson Summers – Georgia Southern
  5. McElwain – Florida.
  6. Butch Jones – Tennessee
  7. Mora – UCLA.  Was on the ECOD at 4 last week.
  8. Bielema - Arkansas
  9. Riley - Nebraska
  10. Sumlin – Texas A&M
  11. Graham - ASU

The Hot Seat

1.    Beatty – Kansas
2.    Fedora – UNC
3.    Lovie Smith – Illinois hands Indiana first B1G Win
4.    Ruhle – Baylor
Retirement Eminent?
1.     Bill Snyder – K-State.  Gotta’ be thinking about it…
Tennessee Debacle:   Uh, Not So Fast My Friends…
Dumpster Fire Update:  File Under: If you hang around long enough, you begin to see things you haven’t seen before…
In what has to be the weirdest story over the weekend, Tennessee hired than fired former Rutgers Head Coach Greg Schiano after students, administrators and even some Tennessee politicians protested the announced hiring.  Reason?  Apparently Schiano was outed by fellow assistant coach McQueary from PSU when he was an assistant under Paterno of having knowledge of the Sandusky mess and witnessing Sandusky doing stuff.  Schiano went on record at that point in time stating that he had no knowledge of anything going on with Sandusky, but in today’s “Guilty until proven innocent” world, Schiano’s goose was cooked.  And probably will forever remain cooked for any job out there.  Greg Schiano is a good coach and should have been taken at his word, but now, I really don’t see any chance for him.  Hopefully the suckeyes don’t go down the Tennessee path and get him fired from his assistant position.  Which they could probably do.

With respect to Tennessee, I don’t know who they can possibly hope to hire at this point.  Tennessee is a disaster and your history and coaching resume will need to be squeaky clean.  Meaning you’re probably going to have plenty of offers elsewhere and Tennessee would probably be a pass if you were offered the job.  This job might be open for quite some time…
HIRED!
1.     Mullen – Florida!  The Gators dick-tripped their way into hiring Mullen.  The offered Kelly and Frost who both declinded to get into this mess.  Dan Mullen gets back to his roots in Gatorland.  I have a feeling this relationship will work and Dan will be given a little extra time from the forever patient Florida Fanbase as he works out the character issues that remain on the team.
2.    Luke – Ole Miss.  Why not?  Nobody in their right mind would touch Ole Miss right now.
3.    Kelly – UCLA.  Big Hire for UCLA.  Question is:  Can Kelly make the same kind of magic happen in LA as he did in Oregon?
Speculations???
Going to assume that Frost is going to Nebraska.  If he turned down Florida, what is the other option?  And Nebraska will embrace Frost much like Michigan has embraced Harbaugh.  Look out – the B1G West has some pretty good coaches at this point that might make things very interesting in the forthcoming years…
Another rumored move is Sumlin to ASU.  I don’t know what ASU aspires to be, but I guess they figure they should be winning the Pac 12 South more often.
Arkansas believes they can somehow lure Auburn’s Gus Malzhan away.  I get that he has roots there, but why leave a better opportunity to win the SEC and go to a place where fans are have even nuttier expectations than where you’re at?
It’s going to be a fun couple of weeks!!!
Etc.

FMQ Week #13 - Rivalry Week!

Expectations…
One of the hardest things for fans to manage is their expectations of what can be accomplished in any given season.  This season, I had high hopes because, well, Harbaugh and what he would be able to do with a returning Speight, even though there’d be a new  cast of characters around him.  I’m always a little more optimistic in thinking with respect to Michigan and pessimistic with everyone else
Bill Connelly is reminding Michigan fans “Not To Panic”.
A refresher from Bill on what was lost:
It might be difficult for UM to progress in 2017. The Wolverines must replace their leading rusher, four of their top five receiving targets, three all-conference offensive linemen, their top three defensive linemen, their best linebacker, and their top five defensive backs, including nickel back and Heisman finalist Jabrill Peppers.
And his take on the future:
From a macro view, the rebuild is going well and leading to one hell of a 2018. From a narrative perspective, though, 2017 will be interesting.
Harbaugh has had an incredible career despite a list of almosts — almost took Stanford to the BCS title game, almost won the Super Bowl, almost got Michigan over the hump — and will likely win even bigger at UM, but that will probably have to wait another year.

Winning with young players is tough.  Hoke left the cupboard almost as empty as it was left for Rich Rod after Lloyd’s last season.  At least Hoke enjoyed the end of some of Rich Rod’s success stories, but things on the offensive line have been a disaster for a while.  Bill sees all that and wraps it up quite nicely:
You can’t take a “wait ‘til next year” approach when you’re still projected as a top-10 team, but if Michigan does lose a couple of late games and keep the “Never better than third in the Big Ten East!” meme alive, you should get your laughs in while you can. Because this program is probably a year away from ignition!
September 2018 can’t get here fast enough!
Sometimes, When You’re Supposed To Lose
Urban Legend gets this rivalry.  Harbaugh FOR SURE Gets this rivalry.  Which is why its anyone’s ball game.
I know I was bummed on Saturday and there was a definite carryover affect.  A lot of that had to do with the piss poor play calling, but sometimes you have to beat the referees, too.
I vividly recall several Games where the suckeyes were supposed to destroy Michigan.  Albeit they pretty much all occurred under the Cooper Tenure.  I don’t know if those outcomes would have been any different if Cooper HADN’T been the coach, but it was fun while he was there.
But I remember many years going into the Game thinking there was no chance and 85 guys dressed in Maize and Blue proved me wrong.
I’ll never doubt and that’s why you gotta play ‘em!
Fleck Offered a 1-Year Contract Extension
Presumably because too many schools were calling and asking for permission to Interview.  I’m sure Fleck is talked about for better jobs, but he’s got mid-west roots and I believe he’s in for the long haul if the Gophers are.
Harbaugh Rumored to Be In Negotiation For Lifetime Contract
Probably due to constant “Authority Figures” with “Solid Confirmation” of Harbaugh to the NFL and also the likes of UCLA (That one really cracked me up!), Michigan is doing this:
“I talked to someone who’s kind of an insider within that program, and we had a long, drawn out conversation,” Quinn said on FOX Sports Radio, according to Mike Sullivan. “What he told me was that they’re working on a lifetime contract. I swear to you, that was his words. I kind of pressed him on it and said ‘Really?! A lifetime deal? What would that even look like?’ He couldn’t give me the particulars, but he said that’s one of the things they are talking about. That’s how confident, that’s how good they feel about Jim Harbaugh and how glad they are to have him there. So maybe that’s something Harbaugh wants.”
THE FMQ
Well, that sucked….Too many points given in good match-ups.  Probably make the same mistake this week…

Loser…
Rivalry Week is finally here!  I don’t like that it’s on T-Day Weekend now, but it does make for a great weekend!!
On to this week’s picks (Rivalry Names Where Appropriate):
The Egg Bowl  - Ole Miss @ Miss State (-14): I have no idea where the name for this one came from other than the trophy, built to look like a football circa 1927, looks more like an egg, hence the name.  Ole Miss is in a world of hurt having to travel to Starkville and steal one from the surging Bulldogs.  Plus, COWBELLS!!!!
Take Miss State and lay the 14 for $25
Iowa @ Nebraska (+2.5):  There’s actually a history behind this game.  In 1973 in the early part of his career, Hayden Fry upset the Cornsuckers in Kinnick, avenging the previous season’s beat down (40 something to Goose Egg), winning 10—7 and dashing Nebraska’s National Title hopes….
Take Iowa and lay the 2.5 for $25
The Commonwealth Cup - Va Tech @ Virginia (-8):   The two teams have been playing since 1895 and started playing for the Cup in 1996.  Look for Va Tech to take this one home…
Take Va Tech and lay the 2.5 for $25
Florida St. @ Florida (+3.5):  Kind of like the Game, this one doesn’t have or need a name.  However, someone started calling it the “Sunshine Showdown” some time in the 50’s it’s rumored.  Worst records of both teams since they began playing each other.  FSU is slightly better here.
Take FSU and lay the 3.5 for $25
Georgia @ Georgia Tech (+12.5):  Again, when you’ve been playing and hating each other since 1893, the game really doesn’t need a namel.  Georgia needs this bad, but Georgia Tech might keep this close.
Take Georgia Tech and the 12.5 for $25
Wiscy @ Gophers (+17):  Originally, these two universities played for the “Slab of Bacon”, but that disappeared in 1943.  In 1948, they began playing for “Paul Bunyan’s Axe”.  These are the games that the Gophers hired PJ Fleck to come in and win.  And Wiscy needs this bad in order to stay perfect.
Take the Gophers and the 17 for $25
The Iron Bowl - Bama @ Auburn (+7):  Been battling since 1893 and the name derives from the areas contributions to the Steel Industry.  Auburn at home looks and sounds good to this bettor.  But Satan is always going to be Satan.
Take Auburn and the 7 for $40
Sparty @ Rutgers (+14):  Neither of these teams has ever had an “End of Season Rival”, making them a perfect match in the B1G East.  Rivalries usually start with an upset.  Any chance that could happen?
Take Rutgers and the 14 for $35
Clemson @ South Carolina (+16):  Carolina-Clemson Game.  Also, two schools compete in all sports and its called the “Palmetto Series”  Having travelled to and worked in South Carolina, I can tell you how passionate these fans are.  The Plant Manager simply asked me “Tigers or Gamecocks” first time we met.  I said I didn’t have a preference and he said, “That’s not going to work out here.  Pick”
Take South Carolina and the 16 for $25
Texas A&M @ LSU (-10):  Not quite a Rivalry yet.  But it should be the game that finally cooks another coaches goose, which it has a couple of times.
Take LSU and lay the 10 for $40
Domers @ Stanford (+2.5):  Domers are probably the better team, but I will never doubt who the smarter kids are on the field and who the better coach probably is.
Take Stanford and the 2.5 for $25
The Game – osu @ Michigan ( +14):  Really?  We’re still seeing these kinds of spreads in The Game?  After the suckeyes went on the road and got lit up by the same kind of team offense that Michigan runs?  Okay, I’ll stick with tradition and take the points here.

Take Michigan and the 14 for $25
