Black Saturday (October 1, 2007)

If for whatever reason, you are not a college football fan and could care less about the sport, you had to be at least a little intrigued with the happenings that
took place around the country on Saturday.....And if you were a fan of the team in the top ten, it's 50-50 whether or not you're happy this morning.....

WOLVERINES: WANTED: Kicker. Need Collegiate Eligibility. Must be able to kick field goals from inside the 40 yard line with some sort of consistency...
the Wolverines eeked out a road victory over a healthier and better prepared Wildcats team than the one that played OSU.....don't even compare the scores or stats....NWU thought they could beat UM and came out with everyone back who didn't play at OSU......Henne played a great game and the Defense held the Wildcats scoreless in the 2nd half......Now they get a bit of a breather next week with Eastern coming to town....What am I saying....I hope they pour it on the Hurons......I believe Carr when he says anyone can beat us....

SPARTY: Disappointment on what would have been an excellent capper to upset Saturday....Some bad calls and bad decisions sunk Sparty, and the Cheeseheads were lucky to get out of that game with their record intact......Don't let down against NWU....The Wildcats look better now than previously advertised...And how do you drop out of the top 25 losing to a number 5 team????

DOMERS: (0-5) Spoilermakers didn't spoil anything, other than keeping the Domers perfect season alive.....Domer Nation, here is a thought. I mean, really, now that you are completely out of anything, as Jim Rome would say, go for Greatness at Sucking: Don't screw up and win a game....Go for the 0-12 season.....Wouldn't that be more historic than a 3-9 season? If you consider what it will mean to go 0-12 and then go something like 10-2 or 9-3 next year, wouldn't that be better? And it would take some of the heat off the Wolverines for losing to a 1AA school....So Come on Weasle! You can do IT!!! Keep starting Clausen and don't let that Michigan kid in there.....or you might have a chance....

LATERS got run over by a Water Buffalo: OOOPs.....I am sure that Okie Dokie head coach Stupor was overlooking this game for the Red Stream shoot-out, but please, giving up 20 points in the 4th quarter is not the mark of a great team....especially if you give them up to an unranked Water Buffalo ......

GATORLAND: Urban Legend runs into the Tommy Tutone train AGAIN and Gatorland's chances of competing for the National Title have slipped...I mean, Auburn lost to USF and Mississipi State, two of the most reviled and "easy win" teams there are - according to SEC people.......and don't hand me that crap about the SEC being tough. Tommy T has beat Urban two years running. Also, if you watched the game, did you see that bush league move that, I hope, to be outlawed at the collegiate level where Urban stands next to the ref and waits for the center to get over the ball and then calls time out? So the kicker has to make the game winner not once, but twice....Not good Urban....and I quote the Legend "Do I think it's fair? Sure, it's part of the game"....I didn't hear your press conference, but did you whine and say that he shouldn't have been able to kick the same kick twice? Luckily, the NCAA is looking at this and will make some changes just to stop Cheater Urban and others who go so low to win....And why does Florida only drop to #7 when they lose to an unranked team????? They should be at least behind undefeated Kentucky....Or would that just rile up the Gator Faithful too much???

DUCKIES got beat by Da' Bears: Called by this prognosticator, the Ducks couldn't handle a better Bears team at home.....Who also beat them last year....Bears are just not scared very easily....Look for one of these teams to knock off USC in the near future....

MOUNTAIN BOYS knocked off by USF (AGAIN!): I had never even heard of the Bulls until they beat WVU last year....And Rodrico let it happen again....Shut down White and Slaton, and WVU is simply another average Big East Team....

TEXAS loses to K-State (AGAIN!): Shorthorns should have 3 losses right now.....And they gave up two TD's on punt and kick-off returns....Next week they will get destroyed by Coach Stupor and the Okies from the Dokies....

RUTGERS lose to Maryland: Anyone, I mean, does ANYONE want to win the Big East? Oh, hello USF Bulls.....

CLEMSON Kitty Cats lose to GTU Bumble Bees: FRAUD! I knew Clemson would lose to someone, and should have called this game after seeing GTU play Notre Dame.....Clemson needs a kicker if anyone is looking for a job.....

ILINI beat Joe Pa's Kitty Kats....Look out for the Ilini....they have a punishing back and can make plays.....This might be Zookies year....

SATAN LOSES AGAIN!: Bobby B. and the Seminoles knock Satan out of the top 25....Watch for the Fire Satan signs next week if Houston pulls off the upset at home....How Short Honeymoons are when you start to lose.....

GAMES TO WATCH THIS WEEK:

THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: Kentucky and The Ole Ball Coach tee it up on Thursday night....Who would've thought this was a must see SEC game earlier in the year?

LSU AND GATORLAND: Les lost big when Florida didn't beat Auburn and USC nearly bungled their game in Washington......That will really tick Urban Legend off and they will go to LSU fired up ....... and LSU got the Number 1 Ranking Kiss of Death because they didn't suck as bad as USC.....But look for LSU to bounce back from a close game against Tulane and beat the Gators....Handing Urban his first two loss streak in the SEC.....

Red Creek Waterloo: Somebody's season comes to a screeching halt Saturday with 2 losses....Will it be Mack the Knife or Stupor? I believe that the Okies find a way to be the Shorthorns....

SPOILERS vs. The Hairless Nuts (SUCKEYES): Something's gotta give with two undefeateds meeting up.....Look for the Spoilers at home to live up to their namesake....

CHEESEHEADS GO TO CHAMPAIGN: Bielema needs to beat the up and coming Zookie Ilini or it will be the beginning of the end for Wisconsin.....
